Education & Futsal Places Available

23 September 2013

A group of Palace's Education & Futsal scholars took part in a Futsal Festival at the Birmingham Futsal Arena earlier this month, one of three events run by the Football League Trust.

Despite only having two training sessions before the festival and most of the players playing futsal for the first time, the Eagles' representatives won their first fixture against Shrewsbury Town with a convincing 3-1 win in the quick-fire 10 minute match.

Another victory was secured over West Brom, before defeat to Notts County was followed up with a 3-0 win against Cardiff City which saw the boys play some great attacking futsal and sharing the goals out throughout the team. The final game saw a much changed Palace play Leyton Orient and were just nudged out 1-0 in the dying seconds.

By the end of the day all players had got a great feel for the game and couldn't wait for their opening match of the upcoming Football League Trust National Futsal League.

The Education & Futsal Programme is currently running at the CPFC Foundation. This fantastic two year course gives 16 and 17 year olds the opportunity to be part of the Foundation's Futsal Team whilst studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports worth up to 3 A-Levels.

We still have up to eight spaces to fill on this course with an enrollment deadline of 28th September 2013.

So, what are you waiting for? If you are 16 or 17 and want to join us contact Michael Harrington at Crystal Palace FC on 020 8768 6047 or michaelharrington@cpfcfoundation.org
