U21s Miss Out On Play-Off Spot

15 April 2014

Despite hitting Brentford for six last week, Palace's under-21 side have missed out on a place in the U21 Professional Development League play-offs due to results elsewhere.

London rivals Queens Park Rangers snatched the runners-up spot from under the Eagles' noses by beating Millwall 3-1 this afternoon, helped by a brace by former Palace hitman Andy Johnson to finish ahead of Gary Issott's side by a point.

The Eagles' cause had been helped by table toppers Cardiff City who had ended Bristol City's hopes yesterday by beating them 1-0, but the Hoops got the victory they required to leapfrog Palace.
