Puncheon: Goalkeeper Was Outstanding

7 December 2014

Just past the hour mark Jason Puncheon was introduced to the action at Tottenham on Saturday and it was only the woodwork that denied him giving his side the lead. A powerful shot crashed against the crossbar and away to safety as the visitors came away disappointed with only a share of the spoils.
"Before the game we would have been happy to come here and get a point but naturally after how the game went and our performance we are frustrated not to be taking all the points.
"You could see today how confident the whole group is, we are very positive going into games and everyone was buzzing about doing a good job and playing their part across the park to try and get a win out of this one."

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris kept his side in the game and Jason was quick to recall opportunities that came close to giving his side the three points.

"We had a lot of chances and even right up until the very end we could have got the breakthrough but their goalkeeper was outstanding today and made some really good saves to stop us taking all the points. He made a great save from Scott Dann's header and then again from Yannick later in the game are just two I can remember.
"People look at us and see we are not scoring but to be fair the lads are creating chances, we would have problems if we were not doing that, but that is not the case with us because both today and in the midweek home game against Villa we did have opportunities to get some goals but it's not just happening for us at the moment."
