Saturday 17th May at Selhurst Park Stadium
Co-founder of Palace Ale, craft-beer aficionado and actor Neil Morrissey will open the 4th Annual Beer Festival, held at Selhurst Park Stadium on Saturday, May 17th.
The Men Behaving Badly star will cut the ribbon at 12pm, launching a festival of over 150 beers, craft ales, ciders and bottled beers from around the world.
“I am delighted to be able to return to Selhurst Park once again” he said last night. “I was at the inaugural event in 2011 where we launched Palace Ale, and it’s fantastic that the ale has become an established part of Eagles fans’ matchday experience”.
“Since the first beer festival, craft ale has become a massive success story, with a new generation producing new and exciting beers all over London and the UK. It’s great to know that this festival has now become an established part of that new scene, and I’m looking forward to trying out some of the new beers available”.
The event is kindly sponsored again by Cornwall’s Sharp’s Brewery and is supported by the London Brewers Alliance, a loose collective of breweries within the M25 to celebrate the resurgence of brewing in London.
As well as fine ales, ciders & bottled beers from Belgium, Germany the USA and India, there will be live music, street food, and the 133rd FA Cup Final will be shown live from 5pm.
Chief Executive Phil Alexander is looking forward to the event, saying: “I’d like to thank Neil for once again opening the festival, and look forward to what has become not only our last event of the season, but one of the highlights of the London beer calendar. Our ticket office reports that demand is faster than usual for this one, so if you are looking to come along get your ticket now and we look forward to welcoming you on the day.”
