Williams Joins Ipswich On Loan

27 February 2014

Crystal Palace can confirm that midfielder Jonny Williams has joined Championship side Ipswich Town on a month-long loan deal.

The Welsh international, who is set to link up with his country once again next week, has penned a temporary deal with the Tractor Boys to aid their promotion bid.

The Portman Road outfit, managed by Mick McCarthy, currently lie 10th in the table, just five points off the play-off places as they bid for a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2002.

Williams could now go straight into the Ipswich squad to face Birmingham City on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Palace academy graduate has been restricted to nine Premier League appearances so far this season, all of which have come from the substitutes’ bench.

His last outing in red and blue came in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, on 11th January.
Williams has made 64 senior appearances for Palace and scored one goal since making his first team debut against Coventry City back in August 2011.

He signed a new four-and-a-half year contract at Selhurst Park last month and coincidentally scored for the Eagles development side against Ipswich on Monday.
