The summer pitch renovation is well underway at Selhurst Park with two major projects set to take place before the new Barclays Premier League season kicks off in August.
A new pitch is being laid in SE25, but undersoil heating is also being installed in order to meet top-flight regulations for the 2014/15 campaign.
Work started in earnest on the new surface last weekend following our final home game of the season against Liverpool, and the first week’s work has seen the top 100mm of rootzone removed to be re-used at the training ground.
Crystal Palace Football Club's ground staff are now busy stripping topsoil and subsoil down to 350mm. This will enable them to start digging out perimeter drainage, which will start early on Tuesday.
