Once again the Eagles academy side went down by a single goal as they were beaten by Swansea City in their latest Academy League game.
Palace started brightly and nearly took the lead early on when Matthew George and Aaron Bissaka linked up and found the red-hot Michael Phillips, but having netted five goals in his previous three outings he couldn't quite add to his tally as he struck the outside of the post.
The Eagles controlled the game during the first period with Oliver Pain a mere spectator in goal, and Corie Andrews saw an effort saved by the legs of the visiting goalkeeper, but despite plenty of possession the hosts couldn't find a breakthrough during the first 45 minutes.
Following the interval and the introduction of Andre Coker from the bench Palace looked lively once again, and the substitute created another opportunity for Andrews who pulled a shot wide.
But after Swansea had hit the post after Dan James had rounded Pain, they caught Ken Gillard's side out with 15 minutes remaining when a swift counter attack saw Adnan Maric play in Owain Jones and he tucked the ball past Pain to score the game's crucial goal.
Trying to restore parity, Coker fired straight at the goalkeeper late on as Palace rued their bad luck against their well-drilled south Wales opponents.
