Williams Earns Town A Point

1 October 2014

Jonny Williams came off the bench to score an equaliser at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening to extend the Suffolk sides unbeaten run to six matches.

The goal in the 1-1 draw was described by manager Mick McCarthy as "flipping brilliant". The midfielder found the net after just five minutes of coming off the bench
to start his second loan spell at Portman Road.

McCarthy was delighted with the goal but admitted he wasn't bothered how it had found the net to give his side a share of the points. "Jonny's goal was absolutely flipping brilliant.
It was the equaliser and it wouldn't have mattered had it gone in off his backside, but it was a good goal."

Jonny came off towards the end with a groin injury but is hopeful of being fit for their away match at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
