Palace's academy side let a two-goal half-time lead slip to draw with Nottingham Forest in their latest under-18s Professional Development League 2 encounter.
Despite Corie Andrews and Aaron-Wan Bissaka putting the hosts in a commanding position at the break in Beckenham, Ken Gillard's men saw their advantage slip away during the second 45.
The visitors started brightly and Bradley Comins was forced to push away a powerful blast from winger Liam Adams early on, but with their first real attack Palace found themselves ahead on 38 minutes.
Andrews picked the ball up just inside his own half, and after turning a defender used his pace to burst inside behind the Forest defence and finish coolly to score a superb individual goal - his second of the season.
Forest were struggling with the pace of the Eagles attack and just before half-time that caused them to fall two goals behind. Making his full debut for the academy side, Oliver Bennett played a brilliant reverse pass into the path of Bissaka who fired the ball low into the bottom corner.
However three minutes after the restart Forest found themselves back in the game when a fine cross by Jack Kelly found David Arrowsmith free in the area and he had time to power the ball into the bottom corner.
After Adams went close to adding a second when he hit the side-netting, nine minutes from time Forest substitute Aidan Austin whipped a dangerous ball into the area and Tyler Walker managed to poke the ball past Comins to complete the comeback.
With Palace holding on to a point, Austin saw a blast from distance fly just over the crossbar, and late on Kelly burst into space just inside the area and lashed the ball narrowly past the post as Palace rued the chance to chalk up a second consecutive victory.
