Julian Speroni admitted that he was “frustrated” with his side's 2-0 defeat against Hull City despite putting in a sterling effort in goal for the Eagles.
The shot-stopper was beaten twice by Tigers striker Dame N'Doye, but he pulled off a string of good saves including a fantastic stop to deny Tom Huddlestone in the first half, however he was to be left with a bitter taste in his mouth after a second home defeat in two weeks.
“It's a really disappointing result and everyone is gutted with it,” he said. “It doesn't matter if you make one, two or three saves in a game, if you lose it it's a frustrating day.
“It's hard to explain why we've struggled at home lately, sometimes these things happen and it is tough playing in the Premier League as there are no easy games but we need to make sure we put things right next week.”
Palace travel to Stamford Bridge next weekend to take on the league leaders who could clinch the championship that afternoon, however despite the challenge ahead he believes that the side owe it to themselves to put in a display against the Blues to bounce back from two defeats on the spin.
Speroni added: “It's not going to be easy, it's against a fantastic Chelsea team but we need to make sure we put in a good performance.
However I think we need to face everyone with the same attitude and commitment but when you play the big teams they're special occasions, especially for the fans, so we need to put in the work this week to get over the past two weeks.”
