Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, Alan Pardew was full of praise for Palace’s new signing Yohan Cabaye, who he firmly believes is more than capable of playing at the very top. Speaking on Friday at the pre-match press conference, he said:
“He’s a fantastic player and we’re honoured to have him. He is definitely the level of Arsenal players and I don’t think Arsene Wenger or anyone at Arsenal can disagree. He would definitely play in their team and that’s a big bonus for us.”
The midfielder scored on his debut in the 3-1 win at Norwich, and Pardew feels that the arrival of Yohan will help attract more high quality players to Selhurst Park.
“The signing of Yohan was a benchmark; if Yohan can come here then any world class player can come here,” he stated. “We still need to be on the upward curve, which we’re on.”
