Club captain Mile Jedinak was delighted to be named in the starting line up for the first time this season in the hard-fought draw to Everton at Goodison Park.
Jedinak played a key role in a disciplined defensive display, and was pleased to come away with a point in what was an end-to-end game in the north-west.
“I’m buzzing to be back playing again - being involved and helping the boys out wherever I can. We’re pleased with the team’s performance, we defended a lot but then again we were threatening going forward and in the end both teams had enough chances to win the game.”
Everton can name chances they had they could have taken the game in their favour but the Eagles threatened to take all the points back south and came close to claiming victory late on.
“It was two teams on their game tonight. You’re going to have your little bit of luck, fortunately it was on our side three times today with the woodwork helping us out, but those things balance themselves out throughout the season so we’ll take that.”
