Pardew: Magnificent Performance

8 December 2015

Alan Pardew has praised another solid away performance, but says his side could have won the game if refereeing decisions had gone their way.

“It was a magnificent performance, we put everything on the line tonight. Although Everton have got a draw against us, if we’d got a couple of penalty decisions and a couple of breakaways, we could have won the game.”

Palace were denied a clear penalty in the first-half when Gareth Barry grabbed hold of Mile Jedinak’s shirt, and Jordan Mutch came close to scoring in a breakaway late on, but overall Pardew was happy to pick up an important point.

“In the context of the game a draw was a fair result. If we can go on and win this weekend we’ll have a chance to establish ourselves in sixth place so it’s another great opportunity for us.”

The Eagles face Southampton on Saturday at Selhurst, kick-off 3pm.
