Jedinak's Australia To Face China In Quarters

19 January 2015

After losing 1-0 to South Korea in the final group match, Mile Jedinak's Australia will face China in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup.

The Socceroos skipper once again missed out on the action in Brisbane with an ankle injury sustained in their opening day victory against Kuwait, but is expected to be fit for the last eight clash on Thursday.

Korea's Lee Jeong-hyeop grabbed the only goal of the game in the 32nd minute to force the host nation into second place in the group, which sees them face a tougher road to the final as favourites Japan lie in waiting in the semi-finals should the Aussies beat China.

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou revealed after the game that Jedinak would be fit for that game after sitting out their last two games in the competition.
