Premier League Round Up: Confirmed Deals

Having made Petr Cech their first signing of the summer, Arsen Wenger has been looking at ways to trim his squad, with Lukas Podolski joining Galatasaray for an estimated £8 million and Ryo Miyaichi moving to German side St Pauli for an undisclosed fee.

Tim Sherwood has continued his summer overhaul by bringing in Idrissa Gueye from Lille. The Senegal international is highly rated across the Channel, and will be joined at Villa Park by former Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn who will provide competition for Brad Guzan after Shay Given's departure.

Having had a quiet summer, the champions' transfer activity burst into life with the signing of Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco, with Jose Mourinho determined to help the Colombian rediscover his form after a poor season at Manchester United. He was joined by Asmir Begovic who arrives from Stoke City, with Marco van Ginkel moving in the opposite direction.

Having spent 2013/14 on loan at Goodison Park, the Toffees were finally able to secure the signing of Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona for just £4.25 million. Having made 29 appearances for Everton on loan, he spent last season at Sevilla where he played 28 times and helped them win the Europa League. Youngster David Henen has also made his loan move from Olympiakos permanent.

After seeing Nigel Pearson depart as manager, the Foxes moved quickly to appoint former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri as their new boss. Another new face at the King Power Stadium is striker Shinji Okazaki who has signed from German side Mainz. He has 43 goals in 93 appearances Japan, and scored 12 times in the Bundesliga last year.

Former Eagle Nathaniel Clyne became the latest big money arrival at Anfield as he put pen to paper on a £12.5 million deal from Southampton, although the main transfer talk around the club surrounds Raheem Sterling. The England winger is apparently on the verge of signing for Manchester City for a reported £49 million, which could mean Brendan Rodgers remains busy in the transfer market this summer.

With the Sterling deal taking up most of their efforts this summer, and seeing Aston Villa's Fabian Delph turn down their offer, Manuel Pellegrini's only signings have come in the form of two 18-year-old strikers - Enes Unal who has been capped by Turkey, and David Faupala who arrives on a free from French second tier side Lens.

Last week was a costly one for United, who shelled out over £50 million on three new recruits. Bastian Schweinsteiger joined from Bayern Munich for nearly £15 million and was joined by Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton who cost £25 million. Italian international full-back Matteo Darmian has also been bought for £12.7 million to improve a squad that was already bolstered by Memphis Depay.

Steve McClaren made his first signing as Magpies boss by spending £14.4 million on Holland international Georginio Wijnaldum from PSV Eindhoven. The attacking midfielder has won 19 caps for his country and scored three goals, and last season saw him hit 18 goals as PSV ran away with the Eredivise title.

All is quiet at Carrow Road with former West Bromwich Albion midfielders Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu remaining as Alex Neil's only summer signings. Having had less time to get their squad into shape having come up through the play-offs, more new faces are expected soon.

Having endured another summer that has seen two more of his big names depart, Ronald Koeman is hoping that either Cuco Martina or Cedric Soares can the void left by Nathaniel Clyne's departure, and will now look to replace Morgan Schneiderlin. The Saints also saw Tottenham pip them to Toby Alderweireld's signature.

Despite missing out on Inter Milan's Xherdan Shaqiri, Mark Hughes continues to operate shrewdly in the transfer market and added the free signings of Glen Johnson and Shay Given to his squad while he looks for a couple of big name signings to replace the outgoing Asmir Begovic and Steven Nzonzi.

Having been persuaded to stay on as Black Cats manager, Dick Advocaat has moved to bring in 12-time capped Welsh international full-back Adam Matthews from Celtic, as well as make Sebastian Coates' loan move from Liverpool permanent.

Garry Monk continues to look to the continent to find new faces for his Swansea squad, with Portuguese striker Eder the latest capture of the summer. The 18-time capped international has arrived from Braga for a reported £5 million, while former Eagles loanee Jazz Richards has joined Fulham.

As well as boosting their defensive options with the capture of Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid, the north Londoners have also snapped up Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier for around £3.5 million. Meanwhile Lewis Holtby has joined Hamburg on a permanent deal.

The Hornets reportedly broke their transfer record to sign Etienne Capoue from Tottenham, and also finally tied down Matej Vydra to a permanent deal at Vicarage Road after two loan spells in three seasons. Former West Ham man Valon Behrami has also joined from Hamburg, as well as Greek defender Jose Holebas from Roma.

Republic of Ireland international winger James McClean remains Tony Pulis' only new recruit so far, having failed to get former Newcastle and Chelsea striker Demba Ba who opted to move to China instead of the Midlands.

Slavan Bilic has parted with £7.9 million to get Pedro Obiang to move to east London from Sampdoria to continue his overhaul of the Hammers' squad. The Spanish under-21 international helped the Italian side reach the Europa League last season having come through their youth side.
