Nine Eagles In International Call-Ups

18 March 2015

Nine Crystal Palace players have been called up for international action next week.

Welsh pair Joe Ledley and Wayne Hennessey have been named in Chris Coleman's squad for the Red Dragons' crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel next Saturday (28th March).

Second-placed Wales travel to Haifa to face leaders Israel, with both sides unbeaten in Group B so far this campaign. Israel have won all three of their matches so far, but Coleman's side will be buoyed by their bright start to qualification as they aim to reach their first major tournament since 1958.

Also selected for their country are James McArthur and Barry Bannan, currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers, who have been named in the Scotland squad to play Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.

Both games will take place at Hampden Park, with the game against their home nations rivals being a friendly next Wednesday before Gordon Strachan's side tackle UEFA's newest side four days later as they aim to continue their good start which sees the Scots sitting third in Group D behind Poland and Germany.

Skipper Mile Jedinak will also lead Australia into their friendly games against Germany next Wednesday and Macedonia five days later, with the games taking place in Kaiserslautern and Skopje respectively. It will be the first time Jedinak has played for his country since they lifted the Asian Cup on home turf back in January.

After making an impact at the Africa Cup of Nations Kwesi Appiah has been selected for Ghana's friendlies against Pape Soaure's Senegal and Mali, with both games taking place in France. The Black Stars will tangle with Senegal on Saturday 28th March in Le Havre when Appiah will face his new Eagles team-mate before facing Mali three days later in Paris. Souare will also be in contention to play a friendly against Le Harve on the 31st March.

Another player who played in the Africa Cup of Nations is Yannick Bolasie and he could face Iraq in a friendly on Friday 27th in Dubai where he could win his 16th cap for the Leopards.

On the other side of the world Adrian Mariappa has been selected for Jamaica to play two home friendlies against Venezuela and Cuba on 27th and 30th March respectively.
