At the club's annual Awards Night on Wednesday 13th May, one of the club's under-21 players will collect the Development Player of the Year award.
Gary Issott's side are still in the hunt for an end of season play-off place, and could still top their division with a strong end to the season. His development side currently sit second in the table, trailing leaders Swansea City by three points but with two games in hand on the Welsh side.
With so many players in such good form this season, naming a shortlist of four for the award was hard work but one of the following will walk away with the prize at the Fairfield Halls next month.
The reigning Scholar of the Year, the 19-year-old has had a great season for the development side and has played in all but one of their 22 games this term. His performances from the centre of midfield have led to him gaining a spot on the first-team bench for the recent games against Southampton and Manchester City, with the highlight of his season being his brilliant solo wondergoal against Colchester United in January.
Kyle de Silva
With nine goals in 19 games to his name this term, de Silva has blossomed into a striker role whilst also spending time on the flanks. He has been a regular scorer throughout the campaign despite playing with a number of strike partners, and the 21-year-old has scored seven in his nine games during 2015 as he continues to grow into his new role in the side.
The full-back began the season in style, scoring a brilliant 35 yard strike against Sheffield Wednesday on his first outing at under-21 level before impressing on the right of the Palace defence over the following weeks. The former England under-18 international has gone on to show the form that won him international recognition, although he has seen recent appearances restricted through injury.
One of two players from the development side to be handed their maiden first-team appearances this term (the other being Sullay Kaikai), the winger has kicked on from his two League Cup appearances to continue to show his class at under-21 level. Five goals in 17 games is a good return for the hard-working midfielder, who also spent a month on loan at Cheltenham Town in January and February.
You can be there to see who lifts the prize at the Awards Night, which will take place at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon on Wednesday 13th May 2015 between 7.00pm and 10.00pm.
