Yohan Cabaye has recovered from the knock that made him a doubt for today’s visit of Manchester United to take his place in the Eagles’ line-up at Selhurst Park this afternoon.
Alan Pardew was sweating over the fitness of the influential Frenchman but he is one of five alterations to the team that exited the Capital One Cup at the hands of United’s neighbours City on Wednesday.
Cabaye comes in for Mile Jedinak, and Joel Ward returns to the team having recovered from a knee injury that has kept him out for nearly two months in place of Adrian Mariappa. Jason Puncheon has overcome the illness that made sit out the City game and replaces Jordon Mutch.
Elsewhere Dwight Gayle returns up front ahead of Patrick Bamford, and James McArthur is selected ahead of Joe Ledley.
Manchester United meanwhile have lost Phil Jones through injury, with Daley Blind coming in fill in at centre-back. Matteo Darmian also comes in for the injured Antonio Valencia in their only changes from the Manchester City last weekend.
