Team News: Townsend To Make League Bow

Andros Townsend is set to make his Crystal Palace Premier League debut today against West Bromwich Albion as the new season gets underway.

The winger is the only summer signing to start the game, with Steve Mandanda still not deemed ready to play having only had less than two weeks at the club after his Euro 2016 exploits, and James Tomkins out after picking up an injury in pre-season.

Therefore it is a familiar-looking back four and goalkeeper for Palace, with Scott Dann leading out the side, and Jason Puncheon playing alongside Mile Jedinak in the heart of midfield with Yohan Cabaye and Joe Ledley both struggling for fitness but named on the bench.

Chung-yong Lee is given a start in attacking midfield and Connor Wickham is named up front, with strikers Keshi Anderson and Freddie Ladapo also included among the substitutes and looking for their full Palace debuts.

West Brom meanwhile have named a strike partnership of Saido Berahino and Soloman Rondon for this game, with new man Matt Phillips handed a league debut. Tony Pulis has named youngsters Sam Field, Jonathan Leko and Kane Wilson on the bench.
