Palace’s French duo Yohan Cabaye and new signing Steve Mandanda have reached the finals of Euro 2016, as the hosts beat Germany 2-0 at the Stade Velodrome in last night’s semi-final.
Cabaye replaced striker Antoine Griezmann in the 90th minute with France manager Didier Deschamps looking to close out the game. Mandanda has yet to feature in the tournament, with Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris preferred as France’s first choice keeper.
It is the first time in Palace's history that two players have reached the finals of a European Championship.
France now travel to Paris where they will face Portugal at the Stade de France on Sunday, and Deschamps believes it is 50-50 as to which team will win the tournament.
"Against Portugal, anything can happen in a final, it's a one-off game. We have our chance and Portugal have their chance too. Portugal believe in themselves, and we believe in ourselves. It's still very open."
