Four members of the Crystal Palace squad enjoyed a sneak peek of EA SPORTS upcoming FIFA 17 video game when they were invited to the manufacturers’ headquarters in Vancouver.
After training ahead of their game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Andros Townsend, Yannick Bolasie, Hiram Boateng and Luke Croll paid a visit to where the game has been created and developed since its inception in 1993, and played a number of matches against each other which were hotly contested!
The team of Hiram and Andros cruised to a 5-2 win in the first encounter, before a 2-2 draw in the second meant that Yannick and Luke had to win the final match to level up the three-game series, which they did by a 4-1 margin meaning the honours were shared amongst the Palace squad.
“The first game was a warm-up,” joked Yannick. “We’ve just come back from pre-season and we’re still getting ready for the games! We should have won the second game 6-2, but I don’t want to talk about my teammate!”
The latest version of the game is due to be released on September 29 but the four Eagles managed to skip the queue ahead of then, and were full of praise of the latest title.
