Andros Townsend has been handed his first start at Crystal Palace by Alan Pardew as he will kick-off ofF tonight’s encounter with the Philadelphia Union.
As well as the £13 million signing from Newcastle, Freddie Ladapo also makes his maiden first-team appearance up front in a strong Eagles side, which also includes youngsters Hiram Boateng and Sullay Kaikai.
It is expected that all the outfield players will see action, which should mean that James Tomkins will also play his first game in red and blue stripes.
Union meanwhile have made five changes to the side that beat DC United 3-0 on the weekend, with two-goal man Ilsinho missing with a tight groin, and star men Tranquillo Barnetta and Chris Pontius also sitting this game out.
