Jedinak Included In Socceroos Squad

16 March 2016

Mile Jedinak is set to skipper Australia in their World Cup qualifiers against Tajikistan and Jordan during the upcoming international break.

Following this weekend's game against Leicester City, the Palace captain will jet off to Adelaide for the first of two 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Tajikistan, which takes place on Thursday 24th March, hoping to add to his haul of 61 caps and 11 goals in the gold shirt.

Should he feature in that first match then Jedinak will tie the Eagles' record as their most capped international of all time, equaling Aki Riihilahti's haul of 36 caps claimed for Finland while in SE25.

The Aussie would then have the chance to surpass that tally and create club history five days later in Sydney as the Socceroos take on Jordan, hoping that two wins from their final two games will see them progress into the next AFC qualification stage automatically as group winners.
