Connor Wickham is a doubt for Crystal Palace's home game against Liverpool on Sunday, according to Alan Pardew, who confirmed the striker suffered a slight injury at Sunderland on Tuesday night.
Wickham hit two goals to put Palace ahead on his return to the Stadium of Light, but was withdrawn late on. Pardew confirmed during his pre-match press conference oin Friday that the 22-year-old would undergo scans to determine whether he could feature at Selhurst Park this weekend.
"Connor has done terrifically [lately], unfortunately he's got a knock and he's going to have to have a scan today," the manager revealed.
"He picked it up in the game [at Sunderland]. We weren't sure if it was just a little bang or if it might be a bit more serious than that, so we're going to have to check him out today, so he's probably touch and go for Sunday."
Losing Wickham is a big blow for the Eagles, who are without a Premier League win in 11 outings, as he has scored four goals in his last two appearances. Those back-to-back braces have placed the summer signing joint-top of Palace's scoring charts for this season on five. All have come away from home, at Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland, so the striker would be eager to get off the mark in front of the noisy home crowd in SE25.
