Jason Puncheon has been declared fit to play for Palace at Reading on Friday night, after manager Alan Pardew confirmed the midfielder had overcome the injury that had kept him out of action since the start of February.
"Chamakh tore his adductor in the reserve game on Monday, that is a really terrible injury for him because he's been struggling with injuries here and it's such a shame to get it in the circumstances that he got it.
"On the plus side, Puncheon will be available for this game," he added. "And that'll be a big boost for us.
"I think we've missed him, in terms of his control in possession and certainly his knowledge of the Premier League."
The manager also confirmed that James McArthur was recovering well and revealed that the midfielder could feature again before the end of the season, whilst the rest of Palace's injured players were all closing in on a return.
