Joel Ward was pleased to see Palace dig deep and come out fighting after half time to pull level and eventually beat Stoke City at Selhurst Park.
"I think the second half was more of the Crystal Palace that I think everyone loves to see," said Ward at full time.
"We dug in deep second half and got the result that we needed.
"I can't reveal what was said at half time, that remains within the four walls of the dressing room, we had to have a reaction and we did that."
The Eagles' final home game of the season saw Dwight Gayle net a clinical brace after the break to send the Palace faithful into raptures.
"Gayley's come up trumps for us. He's a natural finisher, he knows where the goal is. You can't give him any space. He works his socks off and he got what he deserved today with those two goals."
