Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako has been selected in Mali's squad for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Gabon next week.
Sako, who has been capped 18 times by his national side and scored nine times in those games, has played just once for Palace this season in the EFL Cup against Southampton due to injury, which forced him to miss the Eagles' opening qualifier against the Ivory Coast last month, which saw them lose 3-1.
However with one of their star men back, Mali will be hoping to beat a Gabon side on Saturday 12th November in Bamako, who played out a goalless draw against Morocco in their last game, with only one team from those four advancing to the finals in Russia in June 2018.
The only British-based player in the squad, Sako's last international cap came nearly a year ago when he played in a 2-0 win against Botswana that helped his side through to the third and final group stage.
