On-loan Palace striker Freddie Ladapo scored one and assisted another as Oldham Athletic beat League One leaders Scunthorpe United 2-0 on Tuesday night.
The attacker netted a neat finish from the edge of the area after 42 minutes of the tie in Lancashire to score his second goal in his last three outings, before three minutes later setting up Lee Erwin to put the Latics in control.
Their two-goal lead remained throughout the second half and the surprise victory moved Oldham up to 21st in the table and condemned the Iron to a first defeat in seven games.
Tuesday night was also a good night for Luke Croll, who played in a thriller that saw the Grecians beats Chelsea's under-23 side 3-2 in the EFL Trophy to complete a good few days for Croll's side, who had won 4-1 at Barnet on Saturday.
The victory keeps Exeter's hopes of progressing in the competition whilst the Blues exited the competition at the group stage, and marked the eighth appearance by the Palace defender this term.
Also in midweek Sullay Kaikai played 84 minutes as Brentford gained a goalless draw at Derby County in the Championship, bouncing back from their 3-1 defeat at league leaders Newcastle United on Saturday where the winger came off the bench for the final 26 minutes.
Jonny Williams wasn't required in Ipswich Town's 2-0 win against Burton Albion in midweek, having made his first appearance of the season as an 85th minute substitute in a 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers three days earlier, and Keshi Anderson remained on the bench for Bolton Wanderers' 2-0 win at Millwall.
Meanwhile Hiram Boateng and Ryan Inniss weren't selected in the matchday squads for Bristol Rovers and Port Vale respectively.
