Lee On Target In South Korea Win

1 September 2016

Chung-yong Lee scored for South Korea in their 3-2 win against China in the latest 2018 World Cup qualifier in Seoul.

The Eagles midfielder netted his first international goal in nearly exactly a year to put his country 2-0 ahead just past the hour mark, adding to a Chinese own-goal, and soon Chug found the net, teammate Koo Ja-cheol added a third.

However the visitors rallied and scored two late goals to set up a nervy ending, however Lee's side managed to see the game out and begin the final group phase of the AFC qualification process with a victory.

The Eagles winger won his 73rd cap in the game, and scored his eighth goal for the Red Devils, who now face Syria in Malaysia on Tuesday in their second matches as they look to secure a spot in the tournament in Russia in a little over two years' time.
