Loan Round-Up: Kaikai Impresses For Bees

15 September 2016

The final two days of the transfer window saw seven Eagles players head out on loan to gain further experience in the Football League, and all but two have made their debuts for their new clubs so far.

Sullay Kaikai came on as a late substitute in Brentford’s 2-0 win at Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday, and then on Wednesday it was his cross that helped to set up Jonathan Egan’s 88th minute equaliser as the Bees clinched a late point at Aston Villa. Meanwhile Jonny Williams still awaits his fourth
Ipswich Town debut after recovering from an injury sustained in Palace’s pre-season friendly with Farnborough Town.

Keshi Anderson played 62 minutes for Bolton Wanderers last weekend as they claimed a 1-1 draw against another side relegated from the Championship last season, MK Dons, to keep them two points clear at the top of the League One table, having netted on his first appearance against Southend United, whom Ryan Inniss could feature for soon.

Further down the table, Hiram Boateng started Bristol Rovers’ 1-1 draw with Walsall on Tuesday night, having made his bow for the Gas three days earlier against Rochdale which also ended in a draw. The two points leave Rovers in 19th position in the table, having amassed six from their opening six games.

However Freddie Ladapo missed Oldham Athletic’s goalless draw with Chesterfield last Saturday through illness, as did Luke Croll who sat out Exeter City’s 2-0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra on the same day, having made his debut against Colchester United at the start of the month. The defeat saw the Grecians slide to 21st in League Two, with their next game being a Devon-derby against rivals Plymouth Argyle.
