Kelly: A Game Of Chances

Defender Martin Kelly returned to the starting eleven at Southampton and was disappointed that the defence succumb to second half pressure when it looked like the Eagles unbeaten run was set to be extended.  
 

"It was a tough game but both sides had chances through the ninety minutes and coming in at the end of it we felt we should have got something but it wasn’t meant to be.

 

"In the second half they had a little bit more energy about them which could have been because they were playing at home but certainly in the last 30 minutes they put us under a lot of pressure."

 

The 26 year-old had enjoyed the build up to the game on the back of the victory at Chelsea but after this setback attention soon turns to two home games in five days and he knows that the squad can rely on the fans playing their part as the side look to return to performances of late. 

 

"We had prepared well for this one since the Chelsea game and both us and Southampton played games on Saturday so we had enough time to get ready for this one.
