Frank de Boer takes his side to Liverpool on Saturday without Wilfried Zaha after he picked up an injury in the opening day defeat against Huddersfield Town.
The manager doesn't want to put a length of time on how long the winger will be out of action but knows that its important he is not rushed back ahead of schedule.
"We are going to be without Wilfried Zaha for this match which is very disappointing news for everyone connected with Crystal Palace. He is a very important player for our team but that’s where we are at and we have to deal with it and that is what we will do.
"It is very hard to put a length of time on how long he will be missing but he is a very robust player so we will have to wait and see how it goes but to put a time span on it is difficult. Wilf is a player who will be looking to get back fit as soon as possible and even when he got the injury last week he still played on and completed the 90 minutes, having played for 20 or 30 minutes with the injury and that shows his physical ability. We certainly don’t want to be forcing him back too soon because we need him for the whole season once he is fit to return."
De Boer was able to report on better news with two players who came through their game time with the development side at the start of the week.
"Apart from him we do have most of the squad ready although some may not be fit for 90 minutes for example Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur are ready to be available to play some minutes for us."
