Bakary Sako started for Mali as they lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in their only warm-up game against international opposition ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The Palace played 45 minutes in Marakesh, Morocco, where both teams were preparing for the tournament, and Jonathan Zongo put the Stallions in the lead in the 40th minute before Chelsea's Bertrand Traore doubled it in the 59th minute.

Mali get their AFCON campaign underway on Tuesday against Egypt, before they face Ghana four days later.
Following that, they wrap up the group stage against Uganda on the 25th January.
