The Dog House pub in Hong Kong was the place to be on Tuesday night as the CPFC Hong Kong Supporters Club were handed a night to remember as Wilfried Zaha, James Tomkins and Julian Speroni popped by to meet the group.
The bar was packed all night as Palace fans from the region got the opportunity to get up close and personal to some of their favourite current stars, as well as legends Fan Zhiyi and Mark Bright and chairman Steve Parish, who all got involved in Q&A sessions as well as posing for huge quantities of photographs.
As well as that, the group were the first in the world to see the shirt that the Eagles will wear in the Premier League Asia Trophy containing the Dongqiudi sponsorship on the sleeve, and a signed version was presented to the group’s leader Rob Saunders by Parish.
It was a special evening for Saunders, who said: “Tonight has been a huge success. We’ve had people travel in from different locations and we’ve also found some new local supporters who we didn’t know before and everyone is buzzing about the experience.
“We’re very lucky that Palace have come to Hong Kong and the Asia Trophy is here. This has been amazing for us; I’m of an older generation so it was great to speak to Brighty and Fan, and for three current players to come here and met them in the flesh is amazing. I’m not usually star-struck but I am tonight!”
