The club were saddened to learn of the passing of former defender John McCormick.
He made 225 appearances for the club and scored seven goals during his time at the club between 1966 and 1973.
He made the move under Bert Head's management to south London from Aberdeen and he went on to form a prolific partnership at the heart of the defence with Mel Blyth.
He was part of the squad In 1969 when the club gained promotion to the top flight for the first time and won the club’s first ever Player Of the Year award in 1972.
All at Crystal Palace Football Club offer our deepest sympathy to John’s family and friends at this sad and difficult time.
