Chung yong-Lee Sits Out South Korea Defeat

14 June 2017

Chung yong-Lee was an unused substitute in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier as South Korea suffered a 3-2 defeat in Doha against Qatar.

South Korea, with two matches remaining, now lead Uzbekistan by just a point as they look to secure the second automatic Asian qualifying place for next summer's World Cup in Russia.

Al Haydos and Akram Afif had given the home side a two goal advantage before Ki Sung-yueng and Hwang Hee-chan goals put South Korea on level terms but with only 16 minutes remaining Al Haydos scored the winner.

The defeat turned out to be the final match for the South Korean manager, Uli Stielike, as he was sacked after this defeat having been in charge since September 2014.
