Palace Ladies Sign New Contracts

30 June 2017

Preparations are at an advanced stage for the Palace Ladies new season as the squad look to build on last season's fifth place finish. Coach Dean Davenport was delighted to announce contract news including two new signings.

Goalkeeper Megen Lynch and forward Nikita Whinnett have both joined from Tottenham and boss Davenport believes that the experience they both bring will be vital as the squad compete in this season's FA Women's Premier League South.

"This is a great bit of business for us and shows our intent. Opportunities such as this are testament to the hard work and support being provided for us at all levels from Crystal Palace right through to the people that enable us to represent this great club week in, week out."

New contracts have also been awarded to Ciara Sherwood, Gemma Bryan (pic above), Ellie Bailes (below) and Pam Roberts (further below with Jonny) whilst Ellie Stenning has returned to the Ladies squad after returning from an enforced absence through injury.

Bryan, was the league’s leading goalscorer last season and the Palace camp are delighted to secure her signature due to a number of clubs in the Women's Super League chasing her signature.

Midfielder Bailes was last season's Player Of The Season and was presented with her award at half time in the Hull City home match at the end of 16/17.
