Chung-yong Lee played the first half of South Korea’s friendly match against Iraq on Wednesday evening at the Emirates Club Stadium in UAE in a game that finished 0-0.
Korea used this game as preparation for next week’s World Cup qualifying match against Qatar.
Lee started the game in a three man forward line with Son Heung-min and Ji Dong-won.
Chances were few and far between with the best chance of the first half falling to Ji, who put his shot wide after Son’s good run down the left had created the opportunity.
Lee was replaced at the start of the second half but his fellow countrymen continued to struggle to create chances and the best fell to Hwang Hee-Chan. He couldn’t find the target though, firing wide and now South Korea have only scored once in their last three matches.
