This week plans were revealed that the Football Association are to trial ‘sin-bins in the lower leagues of English football from next season.
The idea which is known as "temporary dismissals" will take place six tiers below the National League and subsequent leagues plus also being tested in Sunday League and male and female youth football.
The new rule introduction will only apply to yellow cards shown for dissent and will see players leave the field for 10 minutes.
Sam Allardyce is a manager who is in favour of the plans to trial the new rule within the game.
"A sin bin is a very novel idea on the basis that the offender is punished immediately so the team who is playing against them can take advantage of that error so it's a very good idea. Rather than that player miss the next game, you get the advantage there and then,
so a sin bin for me is a very good idea."
