From The Boardroom - Hull City

14 May 2017

We bring you the latest comments from the Boardroom as Steve Parish pens his final programme notes of the season ahead of the game against Hull City.

Well, it has certainly been an eventful campaign. I guess that a few months ago, had we been offered a draw or better against Hull at home to retain our Premier League status we would have taken it, but having beaten the teams we have over the last few months we are probably all a little disappointed that we haven’t got the job done sooner.

Nonetheless, it makes today’s game a huge one for both teams. We have the advantage of being at home and we need to make that count and we need you to do what you always do and raise the roof in support of the team. The Middlesbrough game sticks in the mind as the one where you made the biggest difference, lifting the lads from the kick-off to get the first of our recent huge results. I know you will give us everything today, as will the players, and hopefully we can celebrate securing a record fifth successive year of top-flight football at full-time.

As these are my final notes before the summer, I’d just like to personally thank everyone that’s been to a game home and away this season. As I have said, it hasn’t always been easy to watch but you have stuck with us. To the people that have provided counsel and support to me, thank you also, especially Josh and David who are unwavering in both of those aspects. I would also like to thank the players for their efforts - things haven’t always gone as we would want but we have a great bunch and I want today to be a successful end to the season for them as much as anyone.

Finally, I would like to bring your attention to a few things going on off the pitch. Firstly, today sees the launch of our 2017/18 Memberships, which not only give fans the opportunity to purchase match tickets next season but come with a variety of other benefits, including Junior Gold Members receiving one of next season’s shirts with their packs. All the details are online now, so make sure you check these out.

There is also the increasingly popular Selhurst Park Beer Festival on 27th May which gives you the chance to sample some fantastic local beers while watching the FA Cup final and various musical entertainment. Tickets are on sale now, so try and come along to that if you can.

Then of course, there are still season tickets available for 2017/18. We have sold a record number already, but there are a few still to be snapped up. They won’t last long, so make sure you get yours as quickly as you can to ensure you get to see all the action at Selhurst next year for the best possible price.

We hope that after today’s game, we’ll be able to guarantee that you will be watching Premier League football in SE25 once again, so be loud, be proud and be Palace and help roar us on to get this vital result.

Up The Palace!
