Black History Month

15 October 2017

This October marks the 30th anniversary of Black History Month being celebrated in the UK, and throughout the month there are multiple events and activities across London and nationwide which highlight the achievements and contributions of the black community in the UK.

Crystal Palace FC is proud of its history as a club with a diverse team, welcoming of everyone and we are pleased to support Black History Month.

Mark Bright, former player and current Club Ambassador and Director of U23 Development commented: “Palace have always been an open club and strong promoter of cultural diversity, and everyone here is proud to support the rich backgrounds of South London as best we can. It is as true of the team today as it was when I played, but I hope one day - whether it’s my kids’ generation, or my grandchildren’s kids that people will look back and say ‘Wow, was there really a time when people were judged by the colour of their skin?’
