England Under-17s Into World Cup Last 16

11 October 2017

Nya Kirby was an unused substitute as England made it two wins from two games at the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in India, beating Mexico 3-2.

With only 25 minutes of the match remaining the youngsters were three goals ahead courtesy of Rhian Brewster, Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho.

The side though had to survive a late scare as their opponents came back into the game with Diego Lainez's scoring two goals but Steve Cooper’s side survived to guarantee a last 16 place.

This victory in Kolkata followed last Sunday’s impressive 4-0 win against Chile, in which Kirby came on from the bench with thirteen minutes remaining.

England complete their group stage games on Saturday when they face Iraq.
