Palace Ladies went into Sunday’s match against league leaders Charlton Athletic looking to pick up some points on the road as they looked to reduce the gap at the top of the league but it wasn’t to be as the hosts finished winners by a single goal.
The home side maintained their 100% record for the season courtesy of a goal from Charlotte Gurr in the 73rd minute.
Eagles striker Gemma Bryan had the ball in the net in the opening attack of the game but the celebrations were cut short when the referee's whistle ruled out the goal for offside.
The same player had a chance late in the game to put the sides on level terms but Charlton ‘keeper, Katie Startup, wasn’t called upon as the striker put her opportunity over the bar
The Palace Ladies are next in action on Wednesday night when they play Lewes Ladies at Hayes Lane, Bromley, kick-off 7.30pm.
