Palace Youngsters On International Duty

6 September 2017

Two Palace youngsters continued their international activity in the final matches of the break.

Kian Flanagan came on for the last 27 minutes of the Republic Of Ireland’s under 19’s side victory against the Czech Republic, which was their second victory over the same opponent in four days.

Tom Mohan’s side grabbed an 85th minute winner courtesy of a Jordan Doherty header after going ahead earlier in the game through an Anthony Scully penalty.

The Ireland youngsters are preparing for October's UEFA U19 Championships qualifying games.

Nya Kirby was included in the England Under-18s side that lost 2-1 at Leek Town in a friendly international against South Africa.

The squad are preparing for the FIFA Under 17s World Cup next month in India and this game saw another 45 minutes of international experience for the 17 year old.

England’s consolation goal came from Phil Foden in the final minute of the encounter after Lyle Foster and Tashreeq Matthews had given the visitors the advantage.
