Despite losing against West Ham United today, Crystal Palace were given a chance to redeem a point from the game when Jeffrey Schlupp headed home in the 76th minute, and the goalscorer spoke with Palace TV following the match to give his thoughts.
He reflected upon the team performance as a whole, looking back on his first-half view from the bench.
He said, "It's another disappointing result, especially when we started the game so well. [James] McArthur got the goal and we actually looked quite comfortable. West Ham's never an easy place to come to play. I thought we went in at half-time in good nick.
"We're obviously disappointed to come out for the second-half and then them get a goal. We've got positives to take from the game and obviously we've got things to work on. So, we'll work on those and be ready for the game against Leicester."
Schlupp replaced Patrick van Aanholt in the left-back role as Van Aanholt left the field after 55 minutes.
Speaking on how he feels to have made such an impact from the bench, he said, "I've been ready when called upon to come in and play at left-back or left-wing. I've helped the team when I've needed to. I've had to do that from the bench in recent games but I've been ready and waiting and I've played at left-back before. I played there quite a bit last season and I was ready to slot in there and do the job that Patrick's been doing so well."
And, in spite of the loss, Schlupp took positives from his team's performance and looked ahead to next Saturday's home match with Leicester City with one part of the club particularly in mind.
"There's plenty of positives to take from the game still even though it's a disappointing result. We already know what we're capable of doing at home. We played Burnley last week, we got a great result and [had a] great performance. Obviously, with the fans behind us at home - and everyone knows the atmosphere they can create - hopefully they can be the twelfth man and get behind us."
