Crystal Palace's Jeffrey Schlupp spoke with Premier League Productions this week ahead of the Eagles' match with Leicester City, his former club of 12 years.
Schlupp took an optimistic viewpoint of the game and iterated just how crucial both Palace's preparation and the impact of having a vocal home support behind the team is, saying, "It's important that we're positive and ready to go out and get a better result at the weekend.
"Every game is huge in this league but with Leicester being our next one, we're looking to win. We're at home and I think everybody knows what it's like coming to the Palace, it's never an easy trip for anyone. With the fans behind us, they are our twelfth man just like every other game that we play."
The 25-year-old took a look ahead to this week's opposition, remarking that in actual fact they tend to play a similar game to his current Palace teammates.
He explained, "They're a good side, they're organised and quite similar to us to be honest. They've got a lot of pace in their team and they try to use that to their best advantage. But we'll be ready for them, we've been working on the pitch to try and them and stop their threats. Hopefully we can do a good job of that and win the game.
"You can only play what's put in front of you and whether it's a team in the relegation zone or top four team - anyone - we'll be working hard on the pitch to prepare well for those games."
Having risen through the ranks of the Foxes academy, Schlupp certainly knows the club well and, despite having faced them repeatedly since leaving, remarked that it is always meaningful to lineup against his former side.
"I've actually played them a few times now but I've still got a lot of friends there and it's a club that's close to my heart. It's going to be a special occasion for me."
Palace will host Leicester looking to build on their recent success against the club whom they put eight goals past last season.
