Exclusive Interview As Loftus-Cheek Returns To Training

12 March 2018

Ruben Loftus-Cheek returned to Copers Cope on Monday morning for his first training session with the Palace squad since injury was suffered in the home game against Arsenal just after Christmas.

The 22 year old was delighted after the session to report that he was back with the Palace squad and relieved that the injury was not as serious as first feared.

“It was really good and happy to get back in the swing of things, get training and now I want to get back playing as soon as possible.

“My right ankle took a little bit of a fracture and it has taken a while but thankfully I am back now and that is the good thing.  In the first place it was scary because we didn’t know how long it would take and what was the best road to go down but I went back to Chelsea for physio and rehab and worked really hard to get back.”

Since the turn of the new calendar year he has been watching Palace’s progress whilst being back with his parent club and believes with a change of luck the Eagles can start climbing the table.

“I have been following all the games and I think we have been unlucky in a few especially against Man Utd and Tottenham with the last minute winners but I still think we can climb the table with the matches to come.”
