Eagles defender Pape Souare has been included in Senegal's squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Uzbekistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina later this month.
The left-back has been included in the Teranga Lions' 30-man squad for the first time since he suffered a horrific car accident in September 2016 that saw him miss a year of action with a broken leg and jaw, but he has since recovered to play three times for Palace this term.
He now gets the opportunity to prove his fitness to coach Aliou Cisse as he prepares Senegal for the 2018 World Cup, where they have been placed in a group alongside Poland, Japan and Colombia.
Souare, who has 22 caps for this country, could make his first appearance since June 2016 against Uzbekistan in Morocco on 23rd March, or four days later against Bosnia and Herzegovina in France.
Delighted to be called up for the National Team. It’s been a while since I have been able to represent my country, but I am back now and I cannot wait to get back on the pitch! 🇸🇳 🦁✌🏿 pic.twitter.com/8KXIRoCcyR— Pape Souarè (@papesouare) March 7, 2018
