Palace Ladies captain Freya Holdaway has been named as the club’s Player of the Season for her displays during the 2017/18 campaign.
The award tops off a fine campaign for the defender, who has played 21 times for Dean Davenport’s team this season and won her first caps for Northern Ireland in the process, as well as leading her squad's challenge for the Women’s Premier League title and reaching the final of the Capital Cup.
Holdaway is in her third season with Palace Ladies, and her second as captain, and was presented with her trophy by Davenport at the club’s Boxpark Takeover event in Croydon.
After picking up her award, the 29-year-old said: "It's massive. We've had a great year and hopefully we'll go up again. I have to give a shoutout to my teammates because they've been with me through thick and thin and my good games and bad games, and without them I wouldn't be winning this award.
"Captaining the team in the Women's Championship next year would be something I dreamed about. To lead the girls who have worked so hard this season would be massive. We want to create a legacy to take into that league."
