Looking ahead to Sunday's clash away to Chelsea, Andros Townsend answered questions from Premier League Productions, discussing how the positive result against Arsenal last week has boosted the morale and confidence of the Palace squad in the heat of a tough run of fixtures.
Furthermore, he spoke in detail about his own personal aims for the rest of the season and how he hopes to build on his performances from last year.
When asked about the mood in the camp ahead of Sunday's tie against Chelsea, he stated that, "The mood is very positive having played well and picked up a point against Arsenal. Everyone has got a spring in their step, we're training well and hoping for another upset on Sunday."
Looking at how the Eagles have fared this season, Townsend took the opportunity to praise Palace's overall performances this year and spoke on how luck is hard to come by in the Premier league. He said, "We've played very well this season but haven't quite had the rub of the green. Against Arsenal we played well and thankfully Luka's stepped up to put away the chances we did get."
When questioned on a difficult run of fixtures for Palace, Townsend remarked that morale remains high amongst the players.
"Everyone has got confidence, everyone's smiling. We know we've got a tough run coming up but I think that Palace relish that. We always seem to do well against the big boys."
Townsend then went on to thank the fans for their continued support throughout the season and mentioned how good it felt to put in a such a strong performance at home.
"The fans have been great, to give them the performance that we did against a team that had won eleven games on the bounce gives us great confidence."
